

Doris E. Bligh, age 63, of Secaucus, New Jersey passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Doris was born to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Griffin) McSorley in Jersey City. She was surrounded by all of her children, sisters, nephews, and extended family when she departed. Doris was empowered by her faith, and displayed great strength and courage.
Although she was a Jersey City native, she lived in Secaucus for decades where she raised her children. Doris was known by many for her years as a waitress at the Plaza Diner, Legends Diner, and, most recently, Bagel Buffet. People knew Doris for her smile, sense of humor, and her warm personality. What is less known about Doris is all of the people and families she took into her own home over the years. Doris provided a safe place for many in their times of need. Whether it be shelter or an ear to listen, she was a lifeline for countless people throughout the years.
People who knew Doris know how proud she was of her children and grandchildren. She was the loving mother of David Bligh and his wife Christina, Jennifer Rutigliano and her husband Guy, Aimee Bligh and her husband Brian, and Addam Bligh; cherished grandmother (Nana) of David Bligh III, Steven Bligh, Aidan Bligh, Antonio Suarez, Julian Suarez, Mia Suarez, Bella Suarez, Savannahleigh Quinlan, Ryleigh Rutigliano, Alex Becerril, Reece Carabellese, Saige Carabellese, Wren Carabellese, Silas Carabellese, and Roan Carabellese; Devoted sister of Evelyn, Janet, and Charlie; Loving Aunt of Bryan Falco; and Like a Mother to Doreen Kirchoff; as well as many loving extended family members and friends.
