She is survived by her life partner Patrick LittleWolf Brooks and his daughters Dessenia Brooks and Cheyenne Brooks. Her mother Primitiva Jeffries, sister Janet Jeffries and children Madisen Thide and Riley Thide, her brother Lee Jeffries and a host of family and friends.
Emelie was a strong Indigenous Sister of the Occaneechi Band of Saponi Nation as well as a Filipino decent. She loved her Native heritage and was an indigenous activist. She was a producer, an actress but above all these, she was a partner, a daughter, sister and friend.
Emelie had the biggest Heart that anyone could have, always putting others before herself. She had a smile that could light up any room and a laugh that was contagious.
The power in her dance was evident in every ceremony. Her strength and spirit could be felt by everyone who met her. As we gather today to release her body to the Creator, we are not saying goodbye Emelie, but we will see you in the stars
The Brooks and Jeffries Family would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to all who have called, text and video chatted during this time. We and Emelie love and thank you.
