Born in Hoboken to the late Pasquale and Amelia (Valentino) Cantelme, Marie lived in Jersey City before settling in Secaucus many years ago. Active in her community, she was a member of the Rosarians of Immaculate Conception and past president of the Golden Age Group and Mothers Guild.
Predeceased by her husband Salvatore Scalzo, a grandson Mark Scalzo, Jr., and her four brothers and one sister, Marie is survived by her children Mark, Michelle, Lawrence, and Anthony Scalzo, as well as her five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 21st, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 09:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church in Secaucus.
