Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Mr. Taylor lived in Secaucus for the past 46 years.
Patrick served his country in the United States Army. He worked for NJ Transit for 43 years before retiring in 1998. Patrick gave generously of his time for many years to instruct and coach the youth of Secaucus in the sport of baseball. Even as these ball players grew to become young men, “Mr. T.” continued to devote his time to them as the co-founder of the Secaucus Men’s Softball League. Patrick was the backbone and driving force behind the planning of the Secaucus Softball Facility, which thrives today for so many youth and adults who are involved in athletics. Due to his tireless efforts, the Paddy Taylor Fieldhouse was dedicated in his honor at the facility on July 9, 2016.
Pre-deceased by his son John in 1988 and his brother Robert Taylor in 2006, he is survived by his loving wife Elinor of 52 years, two daughters, Kathleen Rogers and her husband Lee, of Wayne, NJ, and Suzanne Lewandoski also of Wayne, and a son, Patrick Taylor and his wife Karyn of Secaucus, NJ. In addition, he is survived by four adoring grandchildren: Sean, Patrick, Jillian, and Steven. Finally, Patrick touched the lives of countless extended family members and friends, young and old, living and deceased, in many ways. He will be missed by all.
