Stella Fontana

Born in Hoboken, NJ to Margaret and Joseph Florio.

Stella was a great cook who poured her love into all her meals. Her house was open to all and they enjoyed sitting at the table for a dish of her gravy meatballs and favorite dishes. She loved crocheting and made many baby blankets which were shared with family, neighbors and friends. One of her favorite pass times was playing cards and she never passed up a game. She loved her trips to AC. Stella was a kind person, who was devoted to her family, ensuring that they always felt loved and cared for. She made sure to share her time, stories, wisdom, and love with everyone around her.

Beloved wife of the late Paul Fontana; loving mother of Mary Schlatman and her husband William, Victor Fontana and his wife Lu-Ann, and Joseph Fontana; cherished grandmother of Matthew Meyer, Paul Fontana and his wife Crystal, Victor Fontana and his wife Michelle Ayvas-Fontana, and Katherine Aguero and her husband Adrian; adoring great-grandmother of Stella, Vincent, Sofia, and Noah Fontana, and Amelia and Mateo Aguero; dear sister-in-law of Ignazio Fontana and his wife Helen; step-grandmother of Nicole Buscavage and her husband Chris; and step-great-grandmother of Madison Buscavage . Stella also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, close family members, and dear friends.

A visitation for Stella will be held Friday, August 2nd from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 3rd at 9:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Secaucus, NJ. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
