

Thomas was born in Jersey City, NJ in 1949 to John Brophy and Rosemary Gilmore Brophy. He completed his education at Holy Family Grammar School and Holy Family High School, followed by a degree in teaching from New Jersey City University. Thomas had a distinguished career at Union Hill High School, where he made significant contributions to the education and development of countless students through his teaching and coaching.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents, John and Rosemary Brophy, and is survived by numerous family members, loved ones, and friends. Highly regarded by all who knew him, Thomas's absence will be deeply felt; however, his love and laughter will continue to live on in our hearts and shared memories.
In remembering Thomas, we acknowledge the indelible mark he left on our lives. His unwavering kindness, wisdom, and generosity will continue to inspire us. Though he has departed from this world, his spirit remains ever-present; guiding us, comforting us, and reminding us of the profound connections we share. Thomas's legacy is one of love, resilience, and an enduring commitment to those he cherished.
Memorial visitation for Thomas will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Leber Funeral Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. The memorial service will be at 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM. A committal service will be on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
