

Ginny was born in Pensacola, Florida, on February 3, 1933, to Leo and Eugenia Maher. She married Emile Cafaro in 1952 and moved from Pensacola to Union City a few years later. While raising a family of five children, Ginny went to school to become an obstetrics technician. She worked in the Palisades General Hospital maternity ward for many years where she helped deliver many precious babies into the world. It was a vocation she loved and was well suited for as Ginny was a kind, caring and giving person to everyone.
Being with her family brought Ginny great joy and she looked forward to every holiday, birthday and anniversary because it meant a family gathering where she could be surrounded by those she loved. She is survived by her loving children, John and his spouse Jodi, Victoria and her spouse Lou, Timothy, Richard and his fiancé Janice, Emile and his spouse Joyce. Ginny was a proud grandmother to 7 devoted grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren as well as an adoring aunt to many nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews in both New Jersey and Florida.
Virginia’s life celebration includes visitation on Wednesday, March 5, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Leber Funeral Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, New Jersey. The funeral will be on Thursday at St. Rocco’s Roman Catholic Church, 4206 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Union City at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery following the church service.
