Walter L. Smith Sr.

Born in Secaucus, NJ to Charlotte (nee Farley) and James Smith. Walter would go on to serve his country proudly in the US Army as a sergeant in the Korean War. He was a driver for Teamsters Local 560 from which he retired, later a bus driver for the Secaucus Board of Education from which he also retired.

Walter was predeceased by his beloved wife Lucretia Smith; and his dear siblings Charlotte Marrone, Rosemary Lamp, Anna Freitas, Josephine Chibbaro, and Steven, John, James, and Charles “GooGoo” Smith. He is survived by his loving children Luann Smith and her partner Betty Ann Zawaski, Walter Smith, Jr. and his wife AnnMarie, Thomas Smith, and David Smith and his wife Elizabeth; his adoring grandchildren Leah McCourt, Kaitlin, Megan, Zack, and Aidan Smith, Maxine Zawaski, and Faith Ezell; and his cherished great grandchildren Cooper and Tucker McCourt.

Visitation for Walter will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. A prayer service and Military Honors for Walter will take place during the visitation at 5:00PM.
