Surrounded by her children, Alta J. Lynam went to meet her Savior on September 22, 2011, at her home in Shawnee. She was born on July 13, 1916 in South Fork, Arkansas, to Charlie Dowdy and Pearl Ann Mansfield-Dowdy. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Lee Lynam; daughter, LaDonne; parents; brother, Hubert Dowdy; and sister, Mauveline Dowdy. She is survived by son, R.B. Lynam and Sandra, Ponder, TX; daughter, Linda Duncan, Shawnee; son, Phil Lynam and Candy, Shawnee; grandchildren, Robb Lynam, Shawnee; Steve Lynam, Grapevine, TX; Lisa Bowman and Rudy, Newcastle; Jim Duncan, Shawnee; Phillip Lynam and Bridget, Shawnee; Rayna Basinger and Joe; and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be held noon to 6pm, Sunday, September 25 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held 10am, Monday, September 26th at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery with Dr. Todd Fisher officiating.
