LaNora Corinna Parsons, 82, known to friends and family as “Corinna” died peacefully of natural causes on August 1st, 2017 in her Tecumseh, Oklahoma home, surrounded by family. Corinna was born one of five siblings in St. Louis, Oklahoma on March 23rd, 1935 to Charley Monk and Nora “Big Momma” Monk. She is survived by her husband, Buck Parsons, of 61 years. Together they have three children, Robbie Parsons, Jock Parsons, and Tim Parsons. They have nine grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, including Zane Augustus Parsons. When she married Buck she moved to the Parsons' Farm in Tecumseh, OK where she would live the rest of her days.
Corinna was a homemaker, a mother, a loving wife, and a best friend. She loved her huge collection of dolls that she both gathered and created over the years. When she wasn't talking on the phone she would often be decorating her home, picking pine cones, looking at animals, or having tea parties with her grandchildren. Family would describe her as one of a kind, someone who could laugh every day, and carefree enough to live her life one day at a time. In the words of Scarlett O’Hara from one of her favorite films, Gone With the Wind, “After all, tomorrow is another day.”
Her family would like to thank Aspire Home Health for their kind hospice nurses for phenomenal home care. Her visitation will be held Friday, August 4th at Resthaven Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Her memorial services will be held this Saturday, August 5th at Resthaven Funeral Home in Shawnee, OK at 2:00 p.m. She will continue to be loved.
