He was born September 23, 1948 in Shawnee to William and Mildred Poe. He attended Shawnee Public Schools and graduated from Shawnee High School. He then went on to attend Oklahoma State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree.
Henry enlisted in the United States Army in June of 1969. He was honorably discharged in January of 1972. He then decided to enlist in the United States Navy in August of 1973 and was honorably discharged in August of 1977.
He worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a machinist and retired after 30 years.
Henry had a love for NASCAR, fishing, hunting, and gold prospecting, and was a member of the Gold Prospecting Association. He also loved riding his Harley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Les Poe.
He is survived by his loving niece, Brandi Poe and his great nephews, Ryan Poe and Tylor Taliaferro; as well as many loving friends.
Visitation will be 1p-5p Sunday at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 2pm Monday at Resthaven Memorial Park.
