Norma Kathlene “Kathy” Blocker, 85, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 15, 1940, in Stratford, Oklahoma, to William Clifford Gentry and Clara Mabel (Furr) Gentry. Kathy spent most of her life in Shawnee, where she built a home filled with faith, music, and unconditional love. On May 19, 1958, she married the love of her life, Monk Blocker. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership rooted in devotion, family, and shared values, a bond that continued beyond his passing. A woman of deep faith, Kathy attended Johnson Church of God and found comfort and joy in gospel music. Her faith guided her life and shaped the way she loved others—with kindness, humility, and grace. Above all else, Kathy put her family first. They were her greatest joy and her proudest accomplishment. Kathy cherished life’s simple blessings: time spent with her family, the companionship of her beloved cat, Bilbo, and the peaceful beauty of the Arkansas mountains. These were the things that brought her comfort, happiness, and a sense of home. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Herron and husband Dean of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, and Debbie Proctor and husband Doug of Shawnee, Oklahoma; her son, Will Blocker and wife April of Shawnee, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, dear friends, and her faithful companion, Bilbo.
