Vonnie D Spurgin

Vonnie was a life-long Meeker resident. He was always there for his family and had tremendous love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vonnie worked as a truck driver for a long time. With his wife, Kitty by his side, he also ran a dairy farm, raised registered limosine cattle, and hauled many bales of hay.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Mary Anna Lynch and Gale Jean Gessner; brother, Georgie Lee Spurgin; and two grandchildren: Denisha Lathrop and Marie Taylor.

He is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years, Kitty; children: Lee Roy Spurgin, Sr. (Janet), Carol Ann Stachurki, and Leslie Lando Spurgin; grandchildren: Lee Roy Spurgin, Jr., Jason Spurgin, Daniel Spurgin, Melanie Allison, Andrea Buss, Joshua Spurgin, Stephanie Walling, Kathryn Taylor, Michelle Holiday, Nichole Jackson and Jacky Cloud; brother, Dale Dean Spurgin; sister: Icie Mae Winters; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 8:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Meeker. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker.
