Andra Jean "Jeanie" Castle Owen

Mrs. Andra Jean "Jeanie" Castle Owen, age 77 of Shepherdsville returned to her Heavenly Father on September 4, 2017. Jeanie fought and won the cancer battle three times. Mrs. Owen was an art history coordinator for the University of Louisville for 23 years, making her an avid U of L fan. She faithfully continued her education first at Campbellsville Junior College then U of L for her degree. Jeanie enjoyed her Sunday school and Senior Citizen Fellowship Joy Group at Little Flock Baptist Church. She was always in touch with Friday Friends and her classmates from Shepherdsville High School. Among those that preceded her in death include her mother and stepfather, Cleo (Underwood) and Robert "Bob" Tanner; grandparents, Anna and Oscar Underwood; sister, Joyce Rosser Neal; brother, Andrew "Andy" Castle; and granddaughter, Grace. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 58 years, Bill Owen; son, Jim Owen III (Rhonda) and another son; grandchildren, Tanner, Trey, Katelyn and Rachel; great-granddaughter, Airiana; and nephew, Bryan Neal (Cheryl). She will be missed by her two closest friends, Margaret Nell Hardesty Johnson and Nancy Richerson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with cremation to follow. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Little Flock Baptist Church.
