Born on Monday, April 2, 1951, in Jefferson County, Kentucky, Arvin was the son of Dorothy and Arvin Renfro, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph "Teddy" Theodore Renfro.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Charles Renfro; daughter-in-law, Miranda Renfro; his grandson, Waylon “Rowdy” Renfro; his sisters, Yvonne Baughn (Rick) and Lesa Duncan (Tony); and grandchildren at heart, Sophia, Nathan, and Macie, along with many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Arvin was a man who lived life on his own terms. In his younger days, he loved the wind, two wheels, a good race, one more beer, and a tussle or two. That fire never left him and you could still see it in his eyes whenever he shared stories of those days.
In his later years, he found peace in the simple things: the comfort of home, doing things for himself like any tough man would, and visits from his biggest fan and pride and joy, Waylon “Rowdy” Renfro.
He also had a way of showing love through the little things. His biscuits and gravy were second to none, and if you were lucky, you might have been on the receiving end of his beloved bean soup and sweet cornbread, sometimes slipped your way with a quiet grin.
Arvin will be remembered not only for his strength and independence, but for the way he loved through honesty, tough lessons, and a presence you couldn’t ignore. He had a way of saying exactly what needed to be said, whether you were ready to hear it or not.
He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, love, and a life lived unapologetically his way. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1pm to 8pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 North Preston Hwy, with cremation to follow.
MoMo & PoPo Renfro are together again. And though our hearts are aching, we find comfort in knowing we have two of the toughest, most beautiful guardian angels watching over us.
