Brenda Joyce Winkler was born on October 19, 1943. Her father said she was born “ass backwards” and had been doing things that way ever since. She always laughed telling that story. She was brought home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 30, 2025. We are sure she was greeted with joy by those who preceded her in death including her parents Ernie and Mildred Davis, her loving husband Gene Winkler, her brothers Larry and Steve Davis, and other beloved family and friends.
Brenda is survived and will forever be missed so greatly by her son Jimmy Winkler and his wife Tam, her daughter Christy Weikert and her husband Rob, her daughter Kelly Davison and her husband Jay along with two loving stepdaughters Leslie Dixon and her husband Jeff, and Rhonda Winkler. She has left a continuing legacy of her life with eleven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She will be missed greatly by her dear sister Barbara Stacy and her husband Doyle along with her brother Jack and his wife Carolyn, and travel partner and sister-in-law Nancy Davis. Brenda also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Brenda believed in God and her secured place in Heaven. She was a member of Summit Hills Baptist Church where she enjoyed services led by Pastor Mike Wyndham. She was always loved and supported by him and her church family. She was a retiree of UPS Logistics but had a long and illustrious resume. She was a jack of all trades and had worked in many different fields. She loved learning and taught us the value of hard work, and a job well done.Brenda was the craftiest person you would ever meet and could sew, knit, crochet, paint, make floral arrangements, and basically create beauty in the ordinary. She made our clothes when we were little, created the wedding flowers and bows for many weddings of family and friends, and just finished crocheting Afghans for her daughters that they will cherish. And boy could Brenda cook. She made everything from scratch, and everyone loved eating her delicious cobblers, peanut butter balls, cakes, chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, and more. She would often be seen dancing while cooking because she loved music and dancing. She and her brother even won dance contests back in the day! Brenda loved musicals and plays and introduced us to ballets and even the opera! We learned the words to Oklahoma and others and loved singing along with her while watching and cuddling with her on the couch. She loved traveling and seeing new sights. She had been to many states, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and was planning several more adventures. She loved watching her grandkids in all their endeavors and was always in the bleachers or auditoriums cheering them on. Brenda was so funny, and her laugh was pure magic! She could tell the funniest jokes and always told the best stories about growing up with her brothers and sisters, her adventures as a young woman, and just general life lessons. Our family would love to hear your stories about Brenda. Please join us in celebrating her life and please join in sharing the funny and sweet memories you have of our sweet momma during her celebration of life service.
