Mrs. Cheryl Wilkins, age 68, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Mrs. Wilkins was born on September 8, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to Lucy Montgomery and the late Paul Montgomery. She was a member of Little Flock Baptist Church and a retired Telecoder at UPS. Mrs. Wilkins and her husband loved street rods and were very active in the Okolona Street Rods club. She also was very proud that she had worked at Thornberry’s and Bacons back in the day. Mrs. Wilkins was devoted to her family and she had a goofy sense of humor. She was known at work as the UPS Grandma, was a mom to everyone she met. Mrs. Wilkins loved babies and she always had a baby in her arms. Her family was her life, she loved them dearly, she will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Wilkins Sr., and her father.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Chuck Wilkins (Kelly) and April Adams; 4 grandchildren, Megan Puckett, Caleb Wilkins, Jordan Wilkins, and William Adams; 1 great grandchild, Elin Blake Puckett; her mother, Lucy Montgomery; 1 sister, Missie Ball (Kenny); 1 brother, Jeff Montgomery (Carol); many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
The family would like to thank the CBC and Dr. Huber for their excellent care of Mrs. Wilkins and the entire family and for all their concern. They also want to thank Mrs. Wilkins’ UPS crew for all their concern, prayers and support as well.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday May 26, 2018 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Friday May 25, 2018, from 2:00 pm until 8 pm.
