Christopher DeShawn Thornton

Mr. Christopher DeShawn Thornton, age 30, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, April 19, 2024. He was born on December 15, 1993 in Louisville, Kentucky to Darrell Thornton and Denise (Haynes) Dunnaway. Mr. Thornton is preceded in death by his brother Terry Johnson, Sr. and his paternal grandmother, Fannie James.

Christopher was the life of the party and could make any day brighter. He was an avid UK fan and loved watching WWE wrestling. Christopher enjoyed playing Call of Duty and spending time with his family. He was a football coach at Holy Cross and loved his second family. Christopher made a positive impact on everyone he met. When he passed, he took a piece of everyone’s heart with him. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mom, Denise Dunnaway; dad, Darrell Thornton (Marcia); siblings, Alyssa (Gage), Travonne, Darrell (Viennese), Timothy (Angie), Travis (Shatara), and Demetrice (Jerickah); one true love, Brittany Miller; children, Addilyn and Oaklynn; maternal grandparents, Jeanne Hubbard and Michael Haynes (Teresa); paternal grandfather, William Thornton; great friend and mentor, Coach Eric Dick; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with internment at Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Monday from 9:30 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
