Claude Eugene Waters

Claude “Gene” Waters, age 77, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 14, 2026, with loving family by his side. He was born on January 18, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Claude L. and Nannie (Ferguson) Waters. Gene was a member of Brooks Baptist Church. He was a great brother and was always smiling. He could fix anything and was ready to help anyone who needed his help. Gene enjoyed hiking, walking and visiting Peddlers Mall. His favorite thing to do was eat out at restaurants with his family. His kind and caring nature will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his siblings, Judy Hicks (Robin), Jim Waters (Debbie) and Shirley Waters; nephews, Robbie Hicks, Jeff Hicks and Derek Waters (Kristi); niece, Leighanne Fielding (Brian); great-nephews, Eric Hicks (Jenn), Zachary Hicks, Sean Fielding and Tyler Waters; great-nieces, Ashley Emberton (Jeffrey), Kayla Hedden (Wade), Shelby Fielding and Jaycee Waters; great-great nephews, Lucas Hicks, E.J. Hicks and Hudson Fielding; great-great niece, Lori Jean Hedden and a host of family and friends.

Memorial funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Brooks Baptist Church (3837 Coral Ridge Road, Brooks, KY 40109). Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at the church.
