Dallas Calhoun

Dallas Calhoun, age 87, of Louisville, Ky, returned to his heavenly Father on September 28, 2021. Dallas was born in Glasgow, Ky on March 31, 1934 to the late Elmer and Callie Calhoun. He attended Jefferson Hill Old Time Baptist Church and Southeast Christian Church. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and going to church. He became a General Contractor after retiring from Armour Foods. One of his proudest moments was serving his country in the United States Navy as a Machinist Mate Third Class from 1955-1959. His favorite pass times were spending time with his family and hanging out on the front porch with his friend, David.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Callie Calhoun; brothers, Audrey, Raymond, Charlie and Donald Ray Calhoun; sister Nina Ruth Bushong.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Dewayne Calhoun (Gail), Kathy Graves (Danny), Deana Calhoun and Connie Duke (Travis); grandchildren, Amber (Tim), Tiffany, Courtney, Brandon (Courtney), and Austin; great grandchildren, Aria, Sebastian and Harleigh; 9 step-grandchildren/great grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Jesse and Edna Ferguson; host of other family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service at 2:00pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home.
