David Earl Berry, Sr.

Mr. David Earl Berry, Sr., age 67, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, November18, 2023. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 20, 1956 to the late James Melvin and Betty Marie Berry. Mr. Berry was  Quartermaster at the VFW Post #5710 and was a member of the Zoneton Masonic Lodge #964. He was a veteran serving in the United States Navy. He was also a member of Little Flock Baptist Church. Mr. Berry is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Deborah A. West; and brother-in-law, Jack West.

David loved music. His favorite genres were rock and Christian music. He loved listening to Pink Floyd and singing in the church choir. He enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR races. David liked spending his time fixing things when he could.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 41 years, Susan Berry; son, David Earl “DJ” Berry, Jr., brother, Daniel Berry (Peggy); sister, Diana Lynn Minks (Jimmy); and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 10:00am in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 1:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Saturday from 9:00am until the time of service at 10:00am. Inurnment will take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central at a later date. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the VFW Post #5710 or Little Flock Baptist Church General Fund.

VFW Ritual will be held Friday, November 24, 2023 at 7:00pm
