

He grew up in Fairdale and played high school football where he was All-State during the 1971-1972 season. After high school he began working at Ford Motor Company and took college classes in the evening so he could eventually receive his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville. Mr. Jenkins retired from Ford Motor Company after 34 years then worked at the University of Louisville the last ten years. He was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme in February, right before he was to retire.
Mr. Jenkins lived his life for his family. He worked hard to provide for them and he never missed a ball game or performance that any of his children or grandchildren participated in. He was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Louisville Cardinals. He was married to his loving wife, Pamela, for 33 years.
Among those who preceded him in death include his parents, Ray and Silby Jenkins; brother, Lonnie Jenkins and sister, Ramona Garcia.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 33 years, Pamela Jenkins; children, Brian Jenkins (Nikki), Natalie Morris, Summer Jenkins and Austin Jenkins; grandchildren, Madison Jenkins, Rylee Jenkins, Kyndal Jenkins and Dillon Morris and sister, Judy Chitwood (Bob).
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 12pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 1pm until 8pm and Tuesday from 10am until the time of the service. www.subfuneralhome.com
