Doris Carolyn Scott

Ms. Doris Carolyn Bell-Scott, age 79 of Okolona, returned to her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Ms. Scott was born May 29, 1938 to the late Jimmie Bell and Alma Hutsell. Ms. Scott retired from Jewish Hospital Shelbyville after 29 years at the age of 72. She was a member of Okolona Christian Church and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at age 12.

Among those who preceded her in death include, her grandparents, James Wiley and Moodie Bell; Olie and Luda Goff; parents, Jimmie and Alma Bell - Hutsell; brother, Darrell Bell; sisters, Alma Marie and Norma Sue Bell, and her beloved husband, Hoyt D. Scott.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Kevin Scott (Patricia) and Kimberly Vickers (John); grandchildren, Michael Scott (Melissa), John C. Vickers, Kayla Vickers (Pierce Long) and Jake Vickers; sister, Shirley Bell, Judy Hutsell, and Shelia Hutsell; aunt; Lottie Meeks; brother, Paul Hutsell (Paula); nieces; Renae, Stacey, Bridget, Monica, Erica; nephews, Derrill, Bradley, Josh, and Chad.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 2 pm until 8 pm.
