

Fairis Morgan Williams, age 84, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 25, 2025, with his family by his side. Fairis was born in Richmond Kentucky, on August 21, 1941, to the late Henry Williams and Ruby (Marcum) Williams. He is retired from the United States Army, after 33 years of service in the Army Reserves 100th Division, he worked as a CFO at the Hazelwood Hospital, Central State Hospital, and the Kentucky Children’s Home. Fairis was a Kentucky Colonel and attended College at Eastern Kentucky University where he received his bachelor’s degree.
Fairis was the definition of selflessness and loyalty to all that knew him. He poured all his time and energy into loving and supporting his wife, daughter and grandchildren. Fairis was a friend to all. He brightened every room with his smile and genuine love for people. Known to be quick to dance in the kitchen and tell a joke or a story. Even when his body weakened, he remained strong in spirit and determined. A true example of love, selflessness and strength for his family to cherish,
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He Leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 58 years Paula Jones Williams, his daughter Jennifer Wood (Troy), 3 grandchildren Jake, Morgan, and Brooke, 3 brothers David Williams, (Harriette) Sammy Williams, and Robert Williams along with a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday January 3, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at John Harper Freeway). Visitation will be on Saturday January 3, 2025, from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
Burial will be private.
