Georgia "Becky" Rebecca Orberson

Mrs. Georgia Rebecca Orberson “Becky”, age 72, of Okolona, returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday July 27, 2018. Mrs. Orberson was born in Louisville Kentucky to the late Lucien and Virginia Howley on October 5, 1945. She was a caregiver for Home Instead and a member of St. Albans Episcopal Church.  Mrs. Orberson was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary 8/40, Shawnee Post 128 where she served as both a past Chaplin and a past President. She loved flowers and animals. Her passion for animals led her to be heavily involved with the organization Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs (GRRAND) where she and Mr. Orberson fostered 45 dogs over the past years and fell in love with each one of them.  She was a very caring person, she cared for everyone and always put others first.  Mrs. Orberson loved her family especially her grandkids. She will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Orberson was preceded by her daughter, Paula Britt.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 37 years, John Orberson; 4 children, Lynn, Jennifer, Beth and Gail; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Virginia “Doodle”; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood, & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow in Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Friday from 12:00pm until time of service.
