Gerald Grant Anthony Sr.

Gerald Grant Anthony Sr., age 85, of Mt. Washington, KY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. He was born in Hickman, Kentucky on December 10, 1939, to the late Melvin Anthony and Winfred Atherton. Early in his life, Gerald was a volunteer firefighter, proud Marine, and later retired from General Electric. He was a member of Cooper Memorial United Methodist Church. Gerald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  He enjoyed riding in his 1964 Ford Galaxie and being outdoors. Gerald loved traveling and collected memories, friendships, and historical insights along the way. He loved learning about the past and often spent hours reading about the Civil War, always eager to share a new fact or perspective. Gerald brought laughter, warmth, and authenticity to every moment. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Anthony Sr.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judy Anthony; daughter, Paula Anthony; son, Gerald “Jerry” Anthony Jr. (Cynthia); daughter, Pamela Anthony (Don); grandchildren, Chad Kantlehner, Chloe Kantlehner, and Brandon Bellamy; nephew, Charles Anthony Jr.; niece, Andrea Anthony; along with many other family and friends.

Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road). The visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
