

James “Allan” Dunn, age 71, of Louisville returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 29, 2024. He was born on February 17, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Jim and Joy (Hoagland) Dunn. Allan retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years of faithful service. He was a minister of Christianity and loved to learn. He was also a Master Craftsman, where he worked with metal, leather and wood. Allan enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his true passion was spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Reggie Dunn, Sr. and his sister, Karen Oppel.
He leaves to cherish his memory his granddaughter, Kayla Crawley; grandson, Reggie Dunn, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Ashton Crawley; nephews, Michael Oppel, Jr. and Daniel Oppel; great-nephew, Charlie Oppel; great-niece, Savannah Oppel; brother-in-law, Mike Oppel, Sr.; friend, Dianne Beeber and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 5 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with a private interment in Bethany Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 2 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
