Mr. James (Jim) Gastinger left us and joined his beloved wife, Glennie, on August 23, 2024. He was born on March 27, 1931, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Chris and Zella (Hay) Gastinger. He was drafted and served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. Jim worked at GE, Building 1 for 40 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glennie; sons, Robert and Daniel; brother, Cris, and sisters, Evelyn, Dorothy, Rosa Lee, Luerline, Alberta and Zella.
Left to remember him are his children, Brenda (Ron) Bierly, James, Jr. (Jana) Gastinger and Barbara Gastinger; daughters-in-law, Caroline and Rhonda; 10 grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends and brothers-in-law, Billy Keith and Donnie Jones.
Visitation will be conducted on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 4 pm until 8 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with a private burial in Brookland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Home of the Innocents in Jim’s honor are greatly appreciated.
