James Butch Johnson

James “Butch” Johnson, age 78, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. He was born on June 5, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late James E. and Erma (Miller) Johnson. He was a member of Knob Creek Union Church, a proud veteran of the United States Army and a member of Cupio Lodge in West Point, Ky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sondra Wilkins.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Gary “Travis” Johnson (Tiffani); sisters, Debbie Brown (Jerry), Rhonda Laswell (Steve) and Fonda Summers; grandchildren, Easton and Lydia and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 10:00 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Knob Creek Union Church Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 1:00 until 8:00 and on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 9:00 until the time of service at the funeral home.
