James William Owen, Jr.

James William Owen, Jr., age 84, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on May 2, 2023. He was  retired from Kentucky Department of Transportation. James was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June 23, 1938, to the late James William Owen, Sr. and Catherine Elizabeth Doerr Owen. He is preceded in death by his wife Andra Jean Castle Owen; parents; granddaughter, Grace Owen; brother, Robert “Bobby” Owen. James leaves to cherish his memory his sons, James William Owen III (Rhonda) and Jeffery Robert Owen (Kimberly); 4 grandchildren, Tanner ,Trey, Katelyn and Rachel (Isaac); great granddaughter, Airiana; sister, Sharon Whartenby (Clyde); nephews, Brian Neal (Cheryl) and Joey Helton (Karen); niece, Kristi Brown (Tim); and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, May 11, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) cremation was chosen. Friends and Family may pay their respects on Wednesday from 4 pm until 8 pm and on Thursday from 9 am until time of service at the funeral home.
