Mr. West was born March 5, 1938 in Jersey City, New Jersey and was United States Army veteran. He was a retired machinist from Colgate Palmolive, an avid golfer and a member of Church of Our Savior.
Among those who preceded him in death include his parents, James Henry and Estelle Schnelling West Sr.; mother of his children, Mary Lou West and one sister.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 14 years, Pat West; sons, James (Rebecca), Steven (Billie) and David (Stacey) West; several step children, grandchildren and step grandchildren; one sister.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 2:00 pm until the time of service.
