Jess Thomas Priddy, Sr., age 72, of Hillview, Kentucky, passed away on November 30, 2025. Born to Noah Priddy Sr. and Connie Erwin (both deceased), he was lovingly raised by his father and Jean Priddy, whom he always called simply “Mom.” He was also deeply influenced by his grandparents, Burvin and Flora Priddy, whose guidance and love helped shape the values and character that defined him throughout his life.
Jess Sr. lived a full and meaningful life, marked by kindness, hard work, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved. He cherished his family above all else. His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy, and they always saw him as their rock, a steady, level-headed source of comfort and wisdom, offering support not only through life’s challenges but also in the everyday moments when they needed his tender love.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Greta Sue Priddy, and by a sister, Arlene Demaree.
Jess Sr. is survived by his beloved children: Jess Priddy Jr. (Tracey), Sharon Chitwood (Shannon), and Joshua Priddy; as well as his treasured grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy: four grandchildren—Bruce (Casey), Holly, Sabra, and Angel—and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Dale Priddy (Cara) and Noah Priddy Jr (Sherry), and his sister, Jackie Roselle (Tony).
He retired from the Bullitt County School System, where he especially loved the interaction with the elementary school children. He had a natural gift for connecting with kids, offering them patience, encouragement, and a friendly presence that made their days brighter.
Jess Sr. was a devoted member of Hiawatha Missionary Baptist Church, where his faith shaped his character, guided his integrity, and overflowed in the love and care he showed to everyone around him.
Jess Sr. will be remembered as a good son, a loyal brother, a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a man whose gentleness touched countless lives. His absence leaves a deep void, but his legacy of love, steadiness, and quiet strength will live on through all who knew him.
