John Frederick

Mr. John Thomas Frederick III, age 72, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 15, 2026, with his family by his side. John was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John Thomas Frederick Jr., and Pauline (Greever) Frederick. He retired after many years of service at Humana as a Systems Analyst. He was a member of Christ Church United Methodist, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. John could be found singing karaoke many nights with friends. John was a prestigious member of the Toastmasters Club, and a Scoutmaster. In 2006 he was commissioned as an Honorable Kentucky Colonel. John was a man of many talents, from IT to alpaca farming, to soapmaking. He was a loving and devoted companion, father, brother, friend, and Papa John and Opa to his grandchildren. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister-in-law Debbie Frederick.

He leaves to cherish his memories his son Chris Frederick (Meghann), grandchildren Chloe Smithson (Jake), Sadie Frederick, Isaiah Frederick, sister Esther Frederick, brothers Steve Frederick (Cindy), and Paul Frederick, partner of 25 years Cheryl Stelzig, her children, Jessica Shane, Austin Shane (Jacquelyn Wagner), Ian Shane, grandchildren Krysta Shane, Aden Shane, Ollie Shane and Ashton Shane.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
