John W, Simpson Sr.

Mr. John W. Simpson Sr., age 79, of Louisville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 23,2021. Mr. Simpson was born on October 16, 1942 in Nelson County, KY to the late John Martin Simpson and Georgia Lee (Fields) Simpson. Mr. Simpson was a former security guard for TARC and retired security guard for Crown Security at Hazelwood Center and a Baptist by faith. He was lifetime member of NRA & North American Hunting Club. Mr. Simpson was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed old Western movies, novels, and old country music, such as songs by Waylon Jennings & Johnny Paycheck.  He was a NASCAR and vintage car enthusiast and UK fan.

Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Barnes and brother, Marshall Leon Simpson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 17 years, Alice (Kurk) Simpson; children, John Walter Simpson Jr. (Shelvy) and Jane Carol Simpson (Randall Yates); grandchildren, Maré Simpson, Christopher Howell (Jennifer), Michael Howell, Michelle Simpson, Naven Simpson, and Adam Hoback; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Debbie Devine and Lora Downs (Joe); and brother, Burnie Simpson (Hilda).

Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, December 30,2021 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home-Mt. Washington (Hwy 44 East at 123 Winning Colors Dr.) followed by burial at Highview Cemetery, Bloomfield, KY. Friends and family may pay their respects on Wednesday, December 29,2021 from 2:00pm until 8:00 pm and Thursday from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home. THE SIMPSON FAMILY HAS REQUESTED FOR MASK TO BE WORN.
