John Spray Jr.

Mr. John Granville Spray, Jr., age 45, of Louisville, Ky passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. John was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 1, 1980, to the late John Granville Spray Sr and Terri Lynn (Cissell) Lathem. He worked various jobs but mostly in construction. It was said that he was a hard worker and a hustler. He was both handsome and charming. He was a die-hard University of Louisville fan, and he liked to gamble. He had a heart that could fill a room. A playful sense of humor, always making people laugh. John was a loving and devoted son, dad, and brother and never met a stranger. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Charles Brandon Spray, grandmothers Patricia Ann Gambill, Etta Mae Williams, and Ray Williams, Cousin Preston Cissell.

He is survived by his two daughters Kaylee Rayne Christophel, Heaven Maelynn Spray, brother Travis Anthony Spray, niece Hadassah Spray, cousins Joe and Dalton Cissell. Along with a host of aunts and uncles and other dear family and friends.

A Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy, at John Harper Freeway). The visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment to follow at Brookland Cemetery.
