Mr. John Sheldon Underwood, age 77 of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, July 9, 2018. Mr. Underwood was born July 26, 1940 in Doddridge County, West Virginia to the late Edward and Edith (Wright) Underwood. Mr. Underwood retired from Lake East Hospital in Ohio. He was a family man who loved country gospel music, working on cars and sharing the Lord.
He is preceded in death by a son, John S. Underwood II; brothers, Jack Underwood, Vance Underwood; and sisters, Phyllis McVicker and Sharon Life.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 56 years, Frances (Bickel) Underwood; daughters, Melinda McCauley (John), Brenda McFadden (James), Trenda Thompson (Michael), Falisha Buse (Andrew); grandchildren, Neka, Karen, Tatiyana, Isaiah, Ashley, Thomas, Marissa, Taylor, Mason and Minoo; great grandchildren, Cameron, Emma, Rowyn, Addison; and brother Larry Underwood.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects Friday, July 13, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
