

He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 3, 1983. Jon was born with a family bond and a solid foundation. He spent his childhood years developing an unconditional love for his mom that would last a lifetime and never be broken. He always looked up to his older sister and knew she always had his back. She was his number one fan. From the time Jon was a young boy he followed his dad around learning the construction business. He also loved spending many hours in the dugout watching his dad play softball. At a young age Jon developed a passion for baseball and grew up playing ball at Fern Creek Ballpark where he met many lifelong friends. He attended Fern Creek Traditional High School where he thrived as an athlete. He played football and exceled in baseball. Jon attended Kentucky State University where he played baseball. He left school to begin his career working with his dad learning the construction business. Jon was an exceptional softball player where he traveled all over the United States competing in many tournaments. Jon was a part of many softball teams where he developed many brotherly bonds. His teams won numerous world and national championships.
Jon is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ratliff; parents, Gary and Laurie Ratliff; sister, Amanda Ratliff; niece and nephew, Landen and Lanie; a host of many other family members and millions of friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm with a memorial service at 7:00 pm at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, Mt. Washington (one mile east of the intersection of Bardstown Rd and Hwy 44).
