Joseph R. Cox

Mr. Joseph Rodman Cox, age 75, of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 21, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Joe was born in Louisville, KY on November 14, 1947 to the late Hubert and Betty Cox. He retired from General Electric after over 30 years of service and was a member of the Bullitt County Coon Hunter’s Club. Joe was an avid outdoorsman and loved the Kentucky Wildcats.  

In addition to his parents, his brother, Leland Cox; brother-in-law, Ronnie Ashbaugh and son-in-law, Bo Glass preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Shelia Cox; children, Terry L. Cox and Amanda L. Smith (Jamison); grandchildren, Lacey D. Broughton (Isaac), Leah G. Glass (Dillon) and Brian S. Glass (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Joseph River Broughton and Owen Scott Glass; sister, Ruthie Ashbaugh and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2023 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Wednesday from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of his service at noon at the funeral home.
