Joseph “Chris” Sansbury, age 83, of Shepherdsville, KY passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June 23, 1942, to the late Lidwina and Joseph Earl Sansbury. Chris was a good man, a loving husband, father, and grandpa; who was a devout Catholic, an avid gardener, and a UK fan. Chris worked as a mechanical engineer at Naval Ordnance Station for 37 years. After retirement, he worked as a consultant at ICS (Integrated Consulting Services) for 6 years. Chris was a fighter with a positive attitude who battled cancer for 8 years. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 54 years, Carolyn Ash Sansbury; son, Michael Sansbury (Dana); daughter, Kimberly Isbell (Butch); daughter, Tammy Nasse (Dave); grandchildren, Ben Nasse, Jonah Isbell, and Katelyn Nasse.
Family and Friends may pay their respects on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy Shepherdsville, KY 40165). A Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church (11501 Maple Way Louisville, KY 40229). Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
