

Mrs Joyce Marie Roberts, age 81, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Mrs. Roberts was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 20, 1944 to the late Joseph Preston Nalley and Mary Louise (Bryan) Nalley. She was a member of St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church. Joyce Roberts, Beloved Mother, Friend, and Upstanding Community Member, passed away surrounded by the love of her family and friends. A retired real estate agent of 47 years and a dedicated small business owner, Joyce was known for her unwavering work ethic and generosity. She was a proud lifetime member of AMVETS Post 61 and a Kentucky Colonel, always carrying a deep sense of service and pride in her community. Joyce’s greatest joy was her family. Whether crocheting heartfelt gifts, hosting family reunions, or simply enjoying small gatherings, she found happiness in the company of loved ones. She had a gift for making people feel at home—offering advice, a helping hand, or even a place to stay when needed. She loved the simple pleasures of life, from dressing up for a night out to relaxing by Rough River Lake. Her faith was her guiding light, and she prayed often for the safety and well-being of those she loved. Joyce’s kindness, wisdom, and warmth will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and generosity will live on in the many lives she touched. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Joseph Mark Greenwell; daughter-in-law, Wendy Greenwell; brothers, Joe Nalley, Mike Nalley, Pat Nalley and Wayne Nalley; sisters, Anne Mackin and Carolyn Baker. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Chester Roberts; son, David Greenwell; daughters, Laura Greenwell Dyer (Roberts) and Phyllis Cantrell; sisters, Fran McBride (Philip), Margaret Anderson, Rita Rice (Doug), Debbie Portman (Bob) and Theresa Thompson; brothers, Jackie Nalley (Louise), Randy Nalley (Nancy), Tommy Nalley(Brenda) and Jerry Nalley; two grandsons, Joe Greenwell (Renee) and Hunter Greenwell; one granddaughter, Tara Kummer (Thomas); great grandchildren, Haley Jo Greenwell, Autumn Greenwell, Breanna Kummer, Jasmine Stottman and Alicia Stottman; great grandsons, Logan Kummer and Aiden Stottman; and a host of nieces, nephew, family and friends. A funeral service will be Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (John Harper Hwy at Preston Hwy)with burial in Kentucky Veteran Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Ky. Family and friends may visit Monday, 11am-8pm and on Tuesday 9:30 am until time of service.
