

Mrs. Lucille Elizabeth Hatton, age 94, of La Grange, KY, returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, March 15, 2018. Sister Hatton was born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada on March 11, 1924 to the late Arthur Thomas Henson and Rose Gertrude Savage Henson. Lucille was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints in the La Grange Ward (Crestwood Stake). She has served in many positions of responsibility in her Father’s kingdom including, Relief Society President, Primary President, teacher in many capacities, Cub Scout Leader, chorister and choir member. She was a temple trainer and worker, serving in the St. Louis, Atlanta and Louisville Temples. Lucille was a full- time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, serving in the Eastern States Mission and the Tampa, Florida Mission. Among the work and service she performed, she was a Motor Pool Dispatch Clerk for the Army during WWII, she worked as a nursing assistant and she was an office manager of her husband’s physical therapy office. She also played the French horn for her high school orchestra. She performed in the Hill Cumorah Pageant during her mission and sang in the Sacred Grove. Lucille is so proud to have raised two Eagle Scouts, to be a cheerleader and support for all of her children’s activities and pursuits. She always loved planning parties and welcomed many into her home for a good meal. Lucille will be remembered as a devout wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a great example and teacher to many and a valiant servant of the Lord. Among those who preceded her in death include, her granddaughter, Christine Hatton; great- granddaughter, Ruby Gosnell; siblings, Arthur T. Henson, Jr., Mable Harston, Kenneth Henson, Rose Parker, Dorothy Shea, Terry Henson and LaVeda Henson. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 68 years, Woodford E. Hatton; her children, Jennifer Rose Hatton Mussman (Robert), Larry Henson Hatton, Patricia Lee Gosnell (Michael), Thomas Eastwood Hatton (Julianne); grandchildren, Elizabeth Mussman Hawkins, Robert C. Mussman, III (Billie), Matthew Mussman (Bethany), Barbara Hemsley (Ryan), William Hatton (Anna), Rebecca Ewell (Sky), Victoria Hatton, Katherine Gardner (Shane), Michael Hatton (Amanda), John Hatton, Jeffrey Gosnell (Noelle), Tricia Brooks, Paul Gosnell (Andrea), Brian Gosnell (Amber), Michelle Gosnell, Arthur Hatton (Allison), David Hatton (Lais), Thomas Hatton II, Grace Hatton McClain (Tim); great- grandchildren, Emma and Maxwell Hawkins, Robert IV, James, Aurora, Woodford, Kara and Henry Mussman, Briar, Harper and Tucker Hemsley, Rachel and Gabriela Gosnell, Austin, Waveney and Grace Brooks, Jonas, Lincoln, and Natalie Gosnell, Rose, Clark and Christian Gosnell, Hazel Hatton, Elijah, Abigail, Daniel and Evelynn Ewell, Josiah and Sarah Gardner, Liam Hatton, Gabriel, Arthur and Nickolas Hatton, Joaquin, David and Zara Hatton, Thomas and Alicia Hatton, Maxwell McClain and a host of other dear family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 23, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (6401 Westwind Way, Crestwood, KY). Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (7114 State Hwy. 22, Crestwood, KY) and on Friday from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at the church (6401 Westwind Way, Crestwood, KY). Expressions of sympathy may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints Humanitarian Aid Fund.
