Mark Alan Hatfield

Mark Alan Hatfield passed away in his Mt. Washington home on April 26, 2018 at the age of 62 after a 2 ½ year battle with breast cancer.  He was born in Louisville, KY on June 14, 1955 to Norma and Omer Hatfield. Mark found comfort, guidance, and strength through his belief in the Lord; for it is He that blessed and provided for him. At every stage of life his humor could fill a room with laughter. His quick wit always found the punchline first. In addition to putting a smile on your face, many thought of him as a mentor. His devotion to his wife Brenda, spanned over 36 years and together, they supported and loved their two children, Jacob and Jessie.

Mark carved a career as an insurance agent for 25 years with his wife before moving on to his 10 year career with Geek Squad. Mark’s do-it-yourself attitude led to many projects with his son, who carries on the tinkering tradition. Mark found peace in music and loved spending a day on the lake with his family fishing.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother Norma.  He is survived by his father, Omer; wife, Brenda; son Jacob (Jessica Lynn); daughter, Jessie; brother, Robert (Melanie); along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 12pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home with burial in Brookland Cemetery.  Friends may pay their respects on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 4pm until 8pm. www.subfuneralhome.com
