Richard Thomas "Tommy" Scoggins Sr.

Mr. Richard Thomas “Tommy” Scoggins, age 70, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Mr. Scoggins was born in Ardmore, Alabama on November 13,1954 to the late Mary Edra Scoggins and Johnson Scoggins. He was a member of the Fairdale Masonic Lodge #942, F&AM, a professional millwright and an avid fisherman. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

In addition to his parents, his brother-in-law, Mark Kendall preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Deborah “Debbie” Scoggins; son, Rick Scoggins Jr. (Kate); daughter, Jackie Walker (Mick); 7 grandchildren, Wesley, Andrew, Ashley, Kasey, Krista, Abby and Jake; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Wade Scoggins; sisters, Mary Kendall and Theresa McClain (Rick); his best friend and cousin, Bud Scoggins and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday, July 22 from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
