Rita Louise Gibson

Mrs. Rita Louise Gibson, age 84, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 1, 2022. She was born on February 25, 1937 to the late Raymond Higgins and Estelle Blanford Higgins in Louisville. Mrs. Gibson worked for Wesley Manor as a self-employed hairdresser. She was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church. Mrs. Gibson is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Junie Gibson; brothers, Carl Frank Higgins, Henry Higgins, Raymond “Chico” Higgins Jr.; and sisters, Christine Stottman, Helen Jean Griffin, Betty Hilger.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Patty Gregory (Gary); son, David Gibson (Debbie); grandchildren, Heather Kennedy (Michael), Courtney Boshoff (John), Megan Marcum (Kyle), Ryan Gibson (Coleen), Adrian Gibson; great grandchildren, Hadleigh, Aliza, Briggs, Michael, Brynne; step grandchildren, Jonah Gregory, Lindsey Eslinger (Nick); step great grandchildren, Simon, Kate, Mary Jo; sister, Ruth Ann Harper; her trusted companion, Bella;  and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 4211 Jim Hawkins Dr, Louisville, KY 40229, with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
