Robert “Mike” Michael Stoner age 74, of Louisville, KY, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, September 30, 2022. He was born in Jefferson County, KY on June 4, 1948, to the late James Lonnie Stoner and Ruby Mae Boyd Stoner.
Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Stoner and Billy Joe Stoner; two sisters, Jeanne S. Baird-Shofner and Patricia Bloom Barstow; nephews, Douglas Stoner and Richard Baird.
He was retired from General Electric and had served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He had received the Vietnam Service medal, Vietnam Campaign medal, National Defense Service medal, Army Commendation medal, Aircraft Crewman medal, Good Conduct medal and the Purple Heart.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Betty Ann Helm; nephews, Kevin Bloom and David Stoner, Mark Stoner, Scott Helm, Eric Helm, Jeffrey Helm; nieces, Susan Wills and Rebecca Johnson and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2022, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery. Friends and loved ones may pay their respects on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, from 3pm until 8 pm and on Thursday from 9 am until time of service at the funeral home.
