Mr. Ronald David Henson

Mr. Ronald “Pops” David Henson, age 88, of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, with his family by his side. Ron was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 30, 1937, to the late Harold and Kathleen (Morgan) Henson. He retired from Transport Services where he worked for over 32 years’ where he drove a Switch engine. Ron was a Mason with the Highland Park Lodge # 865 for 60 years. Ron was a loving and devoted husband, dad, Pops, brother, uncle and friend to a host of many. He enjoyed teasing and joking with his grandchildren, deer hunting and spending time at the lake. Ron liked going to car shows with his son David, entertaining his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Donald Henson and his wife Karen, Philp Henson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his son David Henson (JoAnn), his loving wife of 45 years Pat Tinnell, step-son Barry Tinnell, grandchildren Stephanie Davis (Scott), Kevin Henson (Twyla), Chad Semones (Amy), Tina Pich (Mike), Stephanie Zierman (Tim), Josh Tinnell, Barry Tinnell, Jr. (Raven), Chase Tinnell, great-grandchildren Tyler Davis, Tessa Burbank, Mason Zierman, Lilli Tinnell, Barrett Tinnell, Alyzah Tinnell, Audrey Tinnell, Ryan Pich, Kamdon Semones, Karter Semones, Kaylen Newton, Chase Semones (Bree), Scotty Sherrard, great-great-grandchildren Hudson Stahler, Piper Semones, sister Linda Brooks (Spencer), sister-in-law Donna Henson, and his favorite dog “Snoopy”. Along with a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at John Harper Freeway) on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 12 noon. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery.
