Ronald L. Nelson

Mr. Ronald L. Nelson, age 73, of Fairdale, returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, March 5, 2018. Mr. Nelson was born in Louisville, KY on February 4, 1945 to the late Harry and Maxine Nelson. He was a member of Harvest Church of God, an United States Navy Veteran, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Lions Club. He retired from Carnes Trucking Co.

Among those who preceded him in death include, his daughter, Shawna Marie Nelson Marcum.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 50 years, Sandra “Sandy” Nelson; children, Joey Nelson (Denice), Roger Nelson, Brandy Marcum and Jeffrey Marcum; grandchildren, Amanda Johnson (Daniel), Tabitha Nelson, Jessica Johnson (Dale), William Nelson and Lauren Ward; great grandchildren, Brayden, Chloe, Eli, Jaydence, Gage, Zaydyan, Zaharah, Caden, Aiden and Erin; siblings, Harry “Sonny” Nelson (Jackie) and Anedra Barrett and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
