Ronald Edward Thompson, Sr.

Mr. Ronald Edward Thompson, Sr., age 78, of Louisville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. He was born in Louisville, KY on August 15, 1944, to the late Hollen Edward Thompson and Helen Marie (Oaks) Thompson. He worked as a licensed journeyman electrician at Local 369 for over 40 plus years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, he truly enjoyed spending summers at Moutardier Campgrounds. He also had quite a sense of humor and was known to enjoy classic cars. However, the most important thing in his life was his family, his wife Bernice of 49 years and his children and grandchildren. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Donnie Thompson, and Roger Thompson.

 He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Donna Bernice Thompson, a son Ronald E. Thompson, Jr (Dawn), two daughters Samantha Slinger, and Sylinia Graf (Jeff), five grandchildren Allison Reynolds, Trent Thompson, Jace Graf, Ashton Bechtel, and Zach Slinger, and three great-granddaughters. Two sisters Diana Wagner, Faye Ruccio (Jim), and brother Russell Thompson. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.

 Celebration of Life will be from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at the Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road). Funeral service will start at 5:00 p.m. The family request that any expressions of sympathy be given to St. Rita’s Catholic School.
