Ruth Hay age 60 of Okolona was born April 12, 1954 and returned to her Heavenly Father July 1, 2014. Mrs. Hay was an employee for Walmart.
Among those who preceded her in death include her husband, Richard "Dickie" Hay Sr., whom she married forty years ago on July 1, 1974; father, Donald Leighty; brother, Eldon Leighty and a sister, Donna Strickert.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Richard Hay Jr. (Margo), Rosemarie Rock (Ronnie), Robin Norris (Max), Rhonda Payne (Jeff), Robert Hay (Sylvia), Ryan Hay (Katie) and Rachel Hurt (Michael); mother, Mildred Smith Leighty; sisters, Bonnie Wheat, Vera Oneta Harris and Ester Batterton; brother, Leroy Leighty; 11 grandchildren, one great grandchild, a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held 12 P.M. Tuesday at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks (Preston Highway at Brooks Road and use John Harper entrance) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. Monday at Schoppenhorst.
