Ruth united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church at the early age of 8 on November 9, 1954.
She attended Shepherdsville High School and was a member of the staff at Trucker World and a worker for Tubes, Inc. (Louisville, KY).
Ruth departed this life and returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 21, 2018 with loved ones by her side. Among those who preceded her in death include, her beloved daughter, Angelia; her mother and father; her husband, Lester; brothers, John Wesley, Clifford, Robert Lee, R.H. Billy amd Timmy; sisters, Shirley Ann Masden Smith and Jean Masden Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Deborah Payton (of Louisville, KY); sister, Jennifer Rogers (of Bardstown, KY); sister- in- law, Jeanette Masden (of Shepherdsville, KY); special friend, Laura Carr and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 27, 2018 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
